San Mateo Campground

San Clemente, CA

The San Mateo Campground is located a short distance away from the 3.5 miles of sandy beaches in San Onofre State Beach. A 1.5-mile Nature Trail connects the campground to Trestles Beach, a renowned surfing spot. San Mateo Creek runs east of the campground and leads out to the sea, providing crucial riparian and wetland habitats which are home to several rare and endangered species. Every campsite at the campground is equipped with a fire pit and picnic table, and there are also hook-up sites with electricity and water.
